We have a sewage problem that I'm in the process of fixing, but it's taking time. Will the sewage that gets in the soil cause a problem, or will it compost in place? If so, is there anything I should do to help the process? Or should I remove the "material"? If so, what do I do with it?

In general, is there anything wrong with using human waste in compost?

:P I don't know what the experts are saying today but in Germany after the war all we had was human waist and that is how we would furtilize our garden. I am 63 and still healthy.

I think it would be fine if you sprinkle dry molasses or liquid molasses products on the lawn where you think the sewage is leaking.

The extra carbohydrates from molasses or sugar products will balance with the high nitrogen/ammonia from the sewage, creating a very balanced diet for the beneficial aerobic composting microbes in the lawn topsoil.

Happy Gardening!
