I've heard a few folks say you can get'm for around .10/pd - any suggestions for feedstores in Rowlett/Mesquite/garland/Rockwall where I can???? Seems like at that price they'd be super for a variety of uses.

Roaches Feed in downtown Garland (5th and Main I think..) should have it. They carry virtually everything you could want. They're listed on this site under the business directory.

Cool... it is almost time to start stealing bags of leaves again and the extra heat ought to ensure a nicely baked pile o compost :-)

Haven't used alfalfa directly as fertilizer thus far - what are the chances of getting seeds and growing alfalfa in my nice Bermuda carpet????

None; even if you're using matured hay rather than dehy, it still is next to none.

When using alfalfa pellets as lawn fertilizer, can they be distibuted using a regular broadcast spreader? If so, what is the rate? I have 2.5 acres and would like to know how much I would need.

Is it too late to put it down now or should I wait till March?

Thanks,
VARock

The application rate is 10-20 pounds per 1,000 square feet. Some whirly spreaders can broadcast the smaller pellets. You'll need 22 bags.

It is never too late to put down organic fertilizer. It might be too windy or too rainy, but never too late.
