We just moved into our new house just north of Fort Worth and had Bermuda sod laid in the front yard. Since these heavy rains we've had, several places that have sunk down and formed little valleys. How can I repair this? Can I just lift the grass up and put more "stuff" under it? It's only been down for about four weeks and I hate to kills it off so early.

In advance, thanks!
Christina

My limited experience with sod (st. augustine in my case) is that it's important not to mess with a good "seal". Lifting and filling might very well create air pockets and that will assuredly kill the turf in that spot. If it were me, I'd get some compost and good top soil to fill over the sunken areas. The turf should quickly spread and fill in here soon. Others might have better suggestions for you.

Agreed. Bermuda seems to like working its way into mulch too.

sod is probably the easiest plant to recover from being lifted or thrown around....it seems like you wouldnt have any problem with lifting it and filling under it!

it wold be better to fix it now than to wait!
