What are your's and Howard's thoughts or advice on this topic? If there are going to be watering bans does it make sense to promote the growth? My lawn is bermuda tif419. We started an organic program on moving in, 10/2004, corn meal gluten, dried molasses and compost, Except for some dead spots due to massive rocks under the sod, the lawn is doing nicely. I'm seeing the grass beginning to sprout with all the warm weather and I'm concerned.
Thanks,
Mike

If you have a total watering ban, then any St Augustine will die. If you fertilize you might create enough health in the soil that it will protect the grass from the drought longer than if you did not fertilize. More fertilizer is not better in these cases, but I would think at least some would be helpful.

Been watering really deep once every 10 days or so and the lawn is holding up pretty well. Some dry spots in the back yard where the sod was put down over rocks so I'm going to be forced to till those areas and remove the rocks and re-sod. But on th whole I'm satisifed with the health of the lawn.
