This spring I planted two azaleas. Both are watered using soaker hoses. Now it turns out that one hose wasn't working properly.

The azalea is drooping. The leaves are darker than the healthy plant. But when I bend a branch, it bends but doesn't break. I think it is still alive...

So what should I do? Should I trim it back? Should I put some form of fertilizer to try and perk it up?

I spent many hours digging out clay to prepare this azalea bed! I'd hate to lose all that work.

Thank you for all your help and suggestions.

Heather-
The branch-bending trick is not the best test. Scratch the bark with your fingernail in a couple of places up and down the bush to see if you can find some light green bark under the brown outer bark. I would begin watering, slowly, immediately, and spraying molasses or Garrett juice on the plant. The sick tree treatment might also help.

Thanks Tony for the help. I've scratched a few branches, and YES! There is green underneath. So now I'm off to pick up some Garrett juice to use as a foliar spray. I'll let you know how it goes.

If there are any other suggestions out there, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.
