Someone mentioned "rotavator" a fews days back, but I can't remember who or where. Has anyone had experience with this implement? If so, what do you think about it?

Are you talking about the farm implement towed behind a tractor or the little hand held thing that looks like a broken weed eater? Either one looks like a way to kill soil fungus and destroy the soil structure at the surface.

Were you thinking of using it to clear up a problem?

The one pulled behind a tractor. The Howard Rotavator is advertised in Acres USA--"serving organic farmers since 1912." "Kills cover crop, reduces compaction, etc.

A mower kills the crop and leaves behind a green mulch that protects the surface from impact by raindrops (which can compact and cap the surface).
