I am looking for some advice. We live on acreage in Leander, TX and recently two of our dogs were diagnosed with Pythiosis. This is a deadly disease in dogs caused by pythium (commonly called a fungus, but I have learned its technically an oocyte). We suspect that it came from an area on our property that has terrible drainage and my husband did some grading/excavating on this summer. I don't know if he "stirred" it up or conditions were just favorable for its growth. I have read some of the literature out there - we don't water it, we don't treat it with any chemicals, it rarely gets mowed, etc. What I am trying to find out, is does anyone know how to kill it?
