I awoke to find my backyard only covered with yellow pollen and brown crunhcy worm looking things two inches deep falling from my live oak? What is it, and is it going to kill my tree?

As a tip for next spring, when you see the leaves falling from the oak trees, that's the time to wash and wax your car in preparation for the yellow pollen falling. Then when it lands on your car, you can just hose it off.

I do not collect the pollen and flowers. Any that land on the driveway I blow back into the lawn. There is lots of good carbohydrates and proteins in the flowers and pollen. I want to keep as much of that as I can.
