This morning the Blue Jays started making a racket, when I looked out an adult Cooper's Hawk was sitting on my deck. It was almost crow-sized so it was probably a female. Male Cooper's Hawks are significantly smaller than the females.

I haven't seen any hawks on my property since the spring. I'm always on the look out, especially when I hear commotion from the backyard birds.
