I live in little elm and was wanting to plant a Texas ash. Is this going to be a good tree or will I have drainage issues with the clay soil?

I too live in little elm and I have 3 Ash trees that are 10 yrs old and over 30 feet tall, doing very well. I have been organic for almost 3 full years and let me tell you, the old dense black clay that I use to have is still there. However, my soil is now alive, easily broken up and smells sweet. As long as you keep a good organic program, soil type will hardly be an issue. I'd wait till mid/late September at the earliest to plant any trees if possible. Be sure to follow the standard tree planting instructions as outline by Howard and this forum.

Texas ash will grow well in the heavy clay soils as long as the drainage is good and irrigation isn't overdone.
