Can somebody tell me what kind of tree this is? I can't identify it in any Texas tree books or websites. It is growing fast and near my septic system so I am getting a little concerned.

Without any flower or ruler for scale or acorns to go by, I'd guess it is one of the white oak varieties. Squirrels plant acorns that become volunteers and there may be a large oak like this in your neighborhood within a few hundred yards of the house.
