I have a Pine Oak and want to know if this is a OK tree for the Irving Area and how fast does it grow

I would guess this is a typo since you either have a Pine, or you have an Oak. The question is, what type of a pine or oak it is that you have.

Here is another guess...You want to know if a pin oak ()Quercus palustris) will do well in Irving, chances are the answer is no. It is probably too alkaline along with other soil problems in Irving for a pin oak.

The next question is, is it really a pin oak. As a forester, people are always asking me tree questions............"Oh, your a forester, well I have this pin oak in my yard........" What they are really mean is a water oak which if you know your oaks looks nothing like a pin oak. So if you have a water oak, the answer is still probably no due to alkaline soil.
