We recently bought a small braided-trunk 'banana-leaf' ficus tree for use as an indoor potted plant. It has seemed fairly happy (i.e. not dropping leaves or turning brown) but there seems to be something eating it.

We noticed small white spots on the leaves (resembling water spots) and the edges of some leaves have been eaten away by whatever critter is at work.

Any suggestions?

When I see chewing but can't find the critter, I intruduce a spritz of foliar feed spray with garlic/pepper tea to the plant in question and the critters go bye-bye.
