Are the spots low spots or just wet? You may have a grading problem if they are low. Is anything growing there?

Most times low spots can be raised with sand sprinkled in 1/3 inch at a time repeated weekly.

If they are low and always wet, you'll need compost to reestablish the microbial population there. Fungi die when they don't get air. Compost will have what you need. Apply compost at a rate of 1 cubic yard per 1,000 square feet. Use a push broom to sweep it off the blades of grass or you might suffocate the grass.
