I have a retaining wall in my backyard that is approx. 55 feet long and 1.5/2.0 feet high made out of pressure treated crossties. I've notice with lots of rain and heat the creosote comming out. Short of ripping them out and replacing with different material, which I will do in the future, can anyone suggest a solution to:
1. clean and seal the crossties so the creosote does not come out.
2. Cover the crossties with something that would look good.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

You might be able to keep some of that stuff in with a paint type product called "Ready Seal", but you would need to reaply it every couple years from what I understand. Best to just take it all out and do stone.

You could drop in a load of zeolite (Hill Country Farms kitty litter available at H-E-B) and some activated carbon. I don't have a good source for carbon in bulk.
