I'm trying to go organic. Preemerged with corn gluten meal mid February, but dollar weed is taking over my st.augustine! How do I get rid of it?

I don't think it comes back from seed... I think it is an underground rhizome or corm but I may be wrong on that.... I had it pretty bad at a place near rockport at the coast... I was told to run it a little drier since it likes moisture but had no luck... I unfortunately ended up having to use a chemical herbicide to get rid of it... I know that is not the organic answer but it did work and I only resort to it in serious hard to manage cases...

I had dollar weed real bad in my St Augustine lawn in Galveston. Once I started to pickup the grass, instead of mulching, the St Augustine did so much better and killed out the dollar weed. I only cut the grass once a month and was getting to much thatch. Not to worry, the grass clippings are brought back and deposited on my mothers garden. Makes a great mulch, doesn't let the weeds grow and even better fertilizer.
