Which one is better? I believe they provide the same nutrients. So what makes one better than the other? :)

Howard says the soft rock is better. From my experience, I agree. It worked wonders on my Iris. Also, it is much cheaper and some people don't like using ground up animal bones for various reasons.

Both are excellent phosphorus soil amendments. However, if you use lots of homemade compost every year, and use good grain meal products like corn meal all the time in various tea brews or as a soil amendment , there is no need to add any more phosphorus ever to your soil ever again.
