Hello,

Question about my flower bed soil. When I removed my tulips, there was a lot of white powderish "stuff" (for lack of a better word) where the bulbs used to be. It's really just confined to that small area (each bulb spot). Does anyone know what this is? Should I be worried? Thanks in advance for your help! :) It's appreciated!

I am not that familiar with tulips. I would not be concerned if they were growing well. It could be just some of the process of stuff breaking down. Just be sure to mulch all the bare soil you expose after pulling up your bulbs.

Thanks for the reply :)

The tulips grew well - then, developed some weird brown spotting on the stems/leaves. You're probably correct though, about the soil. I am a pretty novice gardener and sometimes have questions as to whether things are 'normal'. Thanks! :)
