I live in a newly developed neighborhood. On one side of my house water runs through our yard into the ditch. There is a telephone poll right where the water runs to. Our problem is where are yard is and then where is slops down to the ditch. Everytime it rains, the sand that was put there, washes away. This leave huge "cracks" in our ditch and yard, with the sand now in the bottom of the ditch. I have called the development company many many times to come and fix this problem. They do come out but all they do is put more sand in the cracks so the next time it rains....you guessed it, it happens again. What can I do to solve this problem once and for all. It has gotten so bad that we cannot even water our grass in the front yard. Please help! [/b]

There are probably many solutions. One that comes to mind is 4-6" rocks in the area that washes away. The highway dept. in my area does that & it seems to work well.

Is there grass growing there and the rains washes the soil away? I'm a little confused.
