My girlfriend and I moved into a new house late last summer. For the most part, the new sod seems to be well attached to the existing soil. I have several questions:

1. Gaps between the squares: As I've had my nose closer to the ground, doing a bit of weeding, I've noticed several areas where the squares were either laid a little too far apart, or shrank. What's a good mix to fill these mini-trenches with?

2. Dead squares: Fortunately there are very few, but there are maybe a dozen squares that seem to lift off the undersoil....do i go ahead and replace or is there any chance there are roots waiting to spring up (and down).

3. I am in the process of spraying Garrett Juice across the lawn (it isn't very big maybe 1000 sq. ft.) Is it correct that I also put down a dry organic fertilizer at the Dirt Doctor recommended rates? Or do I wait a few weeks after the Garrett Juice?

Thanks!

1. Sand

2. If you have access to new pieces, then you can replace them. Otherwise leave them in place so no weeds grow there and so you don't have to fill that area with sand.

3. Any time for either one is fine. One of the cool things about organics is there are no adverse reactions among any of the materials.
