Greetings, We have two new puppies 12 weeks old and I started feeding them Muenster dog food for puppies ,in the red bag yesterday and was going to start adding DE today. Since the food already has it in it now I have second thoughts about doing that. What do you think?

It important to understand that adding more of the right kind of DE to the food not a problem, just not necessary - except in one situation. For animals that are wormy and in general bad health the addition of more DE is a good thing. Doubling the amount by adding another 2% (by volume) can help dogs that are really sick.

Most of you understand this but using any DE that has been treated, calcined or altered in any way is a huge no-no. Swimming pool DE and products that contain pyrethrum are the biggest violators but there are others. The only DE products that I recommend are Soil Mender and DiaSource.
