COMMON NAME: Cypress Vine
SCIENTIFIC NAME: Ipomoea quamoclit
PRONUNCIATION: Eye-po-MAY-ah
TYPE: Annual – Full Sun – Vine
SPACING: 2 – 6 feet

HABIT: Small red flowers and delicate fern like foliage. Fast growing summer flowering vine.

CULTURE: Does well in fertile, well-prepared, healthy soil. Plant seed or transplants in spring when soil has warmed.

USES: Excellent vine for attracting hummingbirds. Good choice for arbors and fences.

PROBLEMS: Cardinal climber or red morning glory has similar flowers but less lacy foliage. There is also a white selection.
