GALLS – PEST OR HELPFUL OCCURRENCE?
What are these growths in my trees? This is a very common question I get. These growths are called galls and there are many different kinds. They are primarily caused by benign wasps, flies and other insects, but can also be caused by disease organisms. Most galls are more cosmetic than damaging. A few galls are no problem but a heavy infestation is a definite sign that your tree is in stress. To be proactive and help your trees resist galls and more serious pests, use the Basic Organic Program and spray every few weeks with Garrett Juice. Exposing the flares of trees will prevent serious infestations and also work as a curative. It is the first step of the Sick Tree Treatment.
