POTENTILLA Potentilla verna (poe-ten-TEA-ah VER-na)

Evergreen – Sun/Shade

Height 2″ – 6″ groundcover Spacing 6″ – 9″

HABIT: Light-textured, low-growing groundcover. Resembles tiny strawberry plants. Small yellow flowers in summer.

CULTURE: Partial shade is best, any soil, but responds to well-prepared and well-drained beds. Moderate water and fertilizer needs. Zones 3 – 7.

USES: Groundcover for small to medium size areas.

PROBLEMS: Red spider, rust.

NOTES: Plant gets a little weedy. Avoid using in large areas. Native to Europe.
