The SPCA of Texas Dallas Animal Care Center is open for adoptions every day from noon to 6:00 PM. Animals are available by walk-in on a first-come, first-served basis. Appointments are also available for select animals. Animals at the Jan Rees-Jones building don’t need an appointment. Some of the SPCA dogs up for adoption are temporarily housed in the Russell E. Dealey Rescue Center. This overflow area for adoptable animals is nearby but is accessible by appointment only. Please browse available animals at spca.org/findapet and visit spca.org/dogadopt to inquire about a dog or spca.org/catadopt to inquire about a cat.

These adult dogs and adult cats are at the SPCA of Texas’ Dallas Animal Care Center (2400 Lone Star Dr, 75212). The adoption fee for adult dogs and adult cats is $100, and the adoption fee for puppies and kittens under the age of 6 months, is $175. Fees include spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, a heartworm test for dogs six months and older, initial flea/tick preventative and heartworm preventative, a microchip, 30 days of MetLife Insurance, a free 14-day wellness exam with VCA Animal Hospitals, a rabies tag, free collar and leash, and a free engraved tag.

Adoption fees for our Senior Sweethearts—pets age 6 and older—are FREE for everyone.

Adoption fees for our Longtime Lovables—pets who have been in the shelter more than 6 moths—are FREE for everyone.

Looking for a new home: Felicity

Felicity is a 3-year-old 53 pound dog awaiting adoption at the SPCA of Dallas.

Meet Felicity, a three-year-old mixed-breed pooch who is mostly white with black nose, mouth, and ear spots. She is a playful and gentle soul who is easygoing and walks well on a leash. Felicity is a 53-pound cuddlebug, who has been at the SPCA for more than 60 days so is a “Longtime Lovable,” eligible for a free adoption fee. She’s already spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines, so she’s ready to go home.

Meet Felicity today at the Dallas Animal Care Center (2400 Lone Star Dr, 75212). It’s open daily from Noon to 6 p.m. and see her profile here: https://spca.org/adoptable/felicity/

Cupid, Adelaide, Lazuli, and Alexa are still waiting for their forever homes.

Still looking for a new home: Cupid

Cupid is a dog at the SPCA of Dallas looking for a new home

Meet Cupid, a year old (15 months) male mixed breed big pup with a short brown coat with a white chest and toes, expressive floppy ears, and a laughing smile. He is an active 50 pounds of pooch but well-mannered (especially when treats come into the picture) and knows a number of commands. Cupid would be a great running, hiking, or walking partner. (His name may have been changed for Valentine’s.)

Cupid is one of the SPCA of Texas Longtime Lovables—pets who’ve been in the shelter more than 60 days—so his adoption fee is FREE!

Meet Cupid today at the Dallas Animal Care Center (2400 Lone Star Dr, 75212). It’s open daily from Noon to 6 p.m. He has been neutered, is up to date on vaccines, and is microchipped. See his profile at https://spca.org/adoptable/scrappy/

Still looking for a new home: Adelaide

Adelaide is a dog at the SPCA of Texas who is looking for a new home.

Meet Adelaide, a one-year-old shepherd-mix who is an all-around winner, good with kids and adults and other dogs. She likes walks, jogging and hiking, riding in cars, and playing in the water.

Adelaide is one of the SPCA’s Longtime Lovables—a pet who’s been in the shelter more than 60 days—so her adoption fee is FREE, making this sweet girl an absolute treasure just waiting to be discovered.

See Adelaide today at the Dallas Animal Care Center (2400 Lone Star Dr, 75212) between Noon and 6 p.m. They are open every day of the week. Sweet Adelaide has been spayed, microchipped and is up to date on vaccines. See her profile at https://spca.org/adoptable/adelaide/

Still looking for a new home: Lazuli

Meet Lazuli, a silver-gray and white big pup who is a 32 pound Weimaraner-mix. At a year and a half old she may still have some growing to do, but is already potty trained and walks well on a leash. Lazuli is currently healing from a mass removal surgery and is looking for a quiet, caring space where she can finish healing. This dog is bright, affectionate, friendly, good with other dogs, and a great cuddler. She is available for foster while she heals, and soon will be ready for adoption, and it can be that the foster home is the one that adopts. Fostering an SPCA of Texas shelter pet doesn’t cost a thing except love and time. Everything is provided—bowls, food, bedding, collar, medications. She has been spayed, microchipped, and is current on all her vaccines. Come meet this sweet girl any day from Noon to 6 p.m., at the Dallas Animal Care Center (2400 Lone Star Dr, 75212). Walk-ins are welcome. Email foster@spca.org to learn more about fostering her, and visit her profile at the SPCA site.

Still looking for a new home: Alexa

Meet Alexa, a chocolate-brown mixed breed soulful senior who is almost 12-years old. We don’t know why this older sweetheart has ended up in a shelter at this advanced age, but this well-behaved smart girl deserves a family for the rest of her life. At 59-pounds she loves people and is a good-sized snuggler, is friendly and gentle and walks well on a leash. She gets long well with other dogs and loves car rides and is fond of water. Like all shelter pets at the SPCA of Texas, Alexa has been spayed, microchipped and is up to date on her vaccinations. See her any day of the week at the SPCA of Texas Dallas Animal Care Center (2400 Lone Star Dr, 75212), every day of the week from Noon to 6 p.m. She qualifies for the Seniors for Seniors program (any adult age 60 and older can adopt a shelter pet age 6 and older for free!) Her profile can be seen at the SPCA website.
